ILD now supporting Bridon Bekaert Academy
In 2016, Bridon Bekaert (formally Bridon International) opened their innovative new academy, at their manufacturing site in Willington Quay, Newcastle upon Tyne.
The project has been overseen by Louise Harper HR North and Training officer Paul Stewart, who has been with the company for over 20 years and has an in depth knowledge of their processes and procedures.
A significant number of the companies’ employees have already been developed through the academy, but now they are taking this a step further by introducing Engineering Apprenticeships into their training plans.
In July 2016, eighteen employees were enrolled on Level 2 Mechanical Engineering apprenticeships with Infinite Learning and Development (ILD) who are a partner of New College Durham.
ILD who already have a welding academy in partnership with Caterpillar Articulated Trucks in Peterlee, look forward to working in Partnership with Bridon Bekaert to deliver the Engineering apprenticeships and support them with delivery of these ongoing programmes in their academy.
